Hmmm ... I think the faults in the bending were an attempt NOT to use the V3 joints (at least, that is the way I am reading it) ... because when some folks saw the faulty joints and the shape so close to that of V3, they applied V3's joints and it fixed Renda's bending issues. Unfortunately, that is very telling.
