Have cake, cheer up, at least you reached 50, it's better the alternative of not reaching 50;) But I know what you mean, it's the birthdays ending in 0 that get ya. Again have cake, cheer up. And remember, 50 is not old if you're a tree;] If you live to be 110 you've got 5 years to the halfway mark. Happy Birthday to you.

Look at it this way. 50!! You've got half your life still ahead of you. Plan on making it to 100. But just in case, live each day as if your maker will be calling you tomorrow to ask what you've been doing. That worked for me when I hit 50. (truthfully it only works for about 3 days then the new aches and pains set in) Happy Birthday to another seasoned citizen

LOLyou miserable old wimp! If you think youre old now, what are you going to do with your next 50 years? And things are getting betteryou could live to be 125 years old by the time technology gets through with us! Then what? More sympathy? So youve fallen off your proud steed a few times and swallowed some rocks. And your bones remind you of the thump when you squashed your nose in the ground. Remember the great Winston Churchill and my hero: We shall never give up! This is your one chance, live it to the max! Happy birthday my friend! And may many good returns of this day follow you to the end. P.S. This coming from an 18 year oldme! :)

Well a great big 'THANK YOU' for all your kind wishes and comments! I'm amazed I reached 30, never mind 50. I'm past middle-age now, I think. Can't imagine living till I'm 100, although my family does tend to be quite long-lived. My main goal in life now is to be really, really late for my own funeral...... Thanks once again! I hope you had a good birthday. I don't remember my 50th, so I couldn't have gotten all that depressed about it myself. I keep wondering when I'll get to a milestone that depresses me. Maybe 90??

Could be worse, could be raining.

Dennisld ( ) posted Thu, 30 June 2005 at 10:01 AM

Sorry old chap but I appear to have missed your birthday by a day but I do send my heartiest good wishes on your fifty years of population on this planet (and I thought you actually attended the Festival of Britain, oh well?) One thought I can give you, which may lift you from the Eastenders zone, and concentrate your mind to unmissable forthcoming events in your life, if you last long enough :). In 2025 there will be a triple conjunction of the planets Saturne and Neptune and on your Birthday too!! How could you not miss this astronomical astronomical event, you must live to at least seventy years old, you cannot possibly go without saying 'I was there', (thank you Max!). Go to a seance afterwards and let me know what it was like. Dennisld p.s. A triple conjunction is an astronomical event, where two planets or a planet and a star meet each other three times in a short period either in opposition or at the time of inferior conjunction, if an inferior planet is involved. The visible movement of the planet or the planets in the sky is therefore normally prograde at the first conjunction, retrograde at the second conjunction and again prograde at the third conjunction. Bryce that!!

Take heart in knowing no matter how old you get, you'll still be 2 years younger than me. :^) And getting older is much better than the alternative.
Happy birthday, Bryster!

Moongoat isn't going to see another summer!!!! Marcfx is now my new best friend - I think! Dennis: I know what triple conjunction is......how sad is that? I thought Pakled was decades older than me.... Thanks again you guys! I had a great day. All my immediate family came around to laugh at me....and I got an amazing A3 b/w photo of the night skyline of New York to hang on my wall (Pre-911) which means a lot to me. One of my grandsons gave me a badge to wear which sez 'Speak up - I'm 50' I'm also considering hireing the Millenium Stadium (SuperBowl type place) to hold a 'Mid-Life Crisis Day' event where anyone from 40-60 can come along and blast away to their heart's content on the musical instrument of thier choice to (hopefully) a huge audience. This is more acceptable to me than leaving my wife and buying a motorbike. (Sort of Live8 Day for saddos) Thanks again! Chris
