All of the above statement about the mac are true. (except for the one about no software. unless you are looking for a specific piece of software or the latest games many creative apps are mac and pc.)
Fact is for all its worth I enjoy using the mac while I don't particularly enjoy using PC's. For Poser your PC is going to be a better fit. (I would still use the mac though, but that's just me)

how do you like the iMac by the way? my sister-in-law is considering one. (Are they noisy like the towers?)

Oh yea and If your mac is panicking you have a problem. Remove a usb hub if you have one attached. try running without it connected for while. Also check your RAM. If all that fails try a fresh install. And last take it in for service. It should not crash. I had a problem with mine and after trying everything I took it in. It ended up being a bad processor. Once they put new ones in it has been rock solid. (And it runs for months at a time between reboots.)
