Just like every single Microsoft program one ever installs completely overwrites all of your file associations, because it assumes that it is the One True Program. The exclaimation points aren't such a big deal that I consciously make that a factor as to whether I buy the product. However, in Poser, whenever I see a folder starting with an exclaimation point, my brain automatically associates the merchant with Microsoft. And that can't be good.
