Indeed music is a sort of international language and over history has addressed many personal, public and world wide issues. Though aid of this sort is often called band aid it is something far better than nothing! Since many people appear to be deaf, blind and mute to serious issues, I am glad to believe at least a few will be given hearing, insight and a voice of awareness because of events like this. In my thought, there is more public notice value in the concert event than the self-proclaimed Hollywood type voices can raise from their various and sometimes oddly uninformed tirades. Every little bit of bootstrap tugging is needed to awake those with know-how, the connections and recognized authority to effect some positives. I recall a very shocked woman who had traveled to the historical slave coast of Africa only to learn of thousands of years of slave trade history and to learn that this was not a guilt laid only on white westerners of the 17th to 19th centuries. She was enlightened. Where economic slave trade exists I see little hope for easy solution. Where sheer lack of ability and resources exist, there is little easy hope. Deep, deep causes hiding from public exposure and kept behind curtains are part of the problems world wide. That is the sum of my knowledge and perhaps more than I find comfortable. : ) Great cause! I imagine great concerts! We would love to have been part of it in one of the venues. Couldnt make it. Yikes! Sorry for being so long on this one. The thread hit a thread.
