Subject: Bryce 5.5 and priority

Yeah, you have enough ram for all that, I'm usually using Bryce 5.0/5.5, Photoshop CS, and a couple other small progs. Are you setting Bryce above Normal or below? Setting it above normal will naturally cause the slowing or freezing of other programs, that's just how I've always seen it work. I tried your problem on my PC, and the priority stayed to whatever I put it at, even while using the clear and render button. Strange. I'm about the same; AMD Athlon 64-bit 3200+, 1Gb of ram.
