Not surprising. Hyperthreading just means that the CPU presents itself to the OS as a dual CPU, but it still is a single CPU. If you switch your hyperthreading CPU to non-hyperthreading, your renders will be just as fast. Only dual-core CPUs are "real" dual CPUs. That means an Athlon64x2 or the newest and costliest P4 CPUs.

The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
