Khai, My point is that the phoenix is a singular bird. One and only one. Next best to eternal, but alone. She gave her name to a particular shade of red-purple and to the Phoenicians. Magnificent bird. That thing in the cage isn't the phoenix. But let's say that JKR hasn't done enough research and that there is more than one phoenix in her world. Dumbledore in that instance wouldn't be dead, and Snapes is nursing an egg somewhere safe. Otherwise, Fawlkes was the phoenix which gave 2 feathers to be used in the wands for Harry and Valdemort to kill each other. (Let's give both sides nukes and enjoy the fireworks!) Carolly
