I have Poser 5 and I started gettting a problem with it starting "Poser executable file has encountered a problem and needs to close" I uninstalled and reinstalled SAME THING happened. I then went to e-frontier and downloaded the 30 day FREE trial of Poser 6, I installed it and exactally the same message came up. I have NO spyware or adware or virus's on my machine. I run Spysweeper, Lavasoft Adware, and AVG Virus Protection. I have been running these Programs along with Poser for a very long Time. Why All of a sudden do I have this problem with JUST POSER programs. Nothing else on my machine is haveing a problem. Someone Please help write me personally at donthecomputerguy@comcast.net or post here.

It sounds as if you may have something in your runtime which is
conflicting with Poser. When you reinstalled, did you remove your
runtime library? If you still have content in your runtime, try
moving your runtime folder to elsewhere on your HDD and rename it
(e.g. "runtimebackup" so poser doesn't locate it. Then try
reinstalling again and see if Poser will launch. I seem to recall
having this problem a couple of years ago in Poser 5 with a freebie
folder which had used some "illegal" characters in filenames.
Unfortunately I had done a complete reinstall before someone
suggested this solution to me >.

Have you reconfigured anything in the way of hardware? added anything? New graphics card? Printer? Networked it with another machine?

I added a New Printer and I went from Satelite Internet to Cable internet, plus I went to a wireless cable modem and networked my new laptop. But I can't see how these things could mess with poser. I never Printed anything from poser, and when I installed the cable modem all I worked in was network settings. But let me know what you think.

All of those could interfere with poser, because it searches the network on launch. But the printer... we've had a problem brought up here before with new/reinstalled printers, I think. Let me do a search...
