Daio (day-oh) has been my nickname for 28 years now and you wouldn't believe the ways people have pronounced it. "I commonly get "die-oh' or day-ee-oh" from folks trying to pronounce it. My mother can't seem to get the "oh" part - she calls me "day-ah" or just "day". BTW I thought I made the name Daio up, not knowing there it was actually a MAN's name in Japan ( I'm female and I have no idea how they pronounce Daio in Japan).
