I tend to agre with Sam Therapy. I, too, switched to Yahoo a couple or three years ago. Since then I have had NO trouble with spam in my inbox, and the "Bulk Mail" folder has also been almost clear. But then, I'm not a merchant, so I don't have problems with unsolicited e-mails..
