I don't what sort of camera you are using, DSLR or prosumer? Anyway, for me, don't use the camera in full AUTO mode. I have always found it looks good through the camera and then you download and it's crap. As L8 says 'try the scenic' mode on the camera or use program mode.
For me, I usually go out early morning or late afternoon for the best results.
If your not sure about a shot, try posting in the forum before uploading to the gallery. You can get some real comments here.
Try these galleries for some ideas, aangus, LostPatrol, sossy and mine. Sorry chaps bit of a Scottish bias going on there!!!!!
