Here's a much-needed character I'm working on that I hope to be able to post as soon as I get a web site up -- a non-dork, nice-looking P4 Man. There's lots of excellent work out there being done on Posette, but, alas, the dork is still a dork. And there are still very few decent skin textures for him. His body will be mostly the same -- it's his stupid face that's the problem. One of the things that makes P4 Man such a dork, IMHO, is the way he smiles, so I came up with a new smile morph that I hope will make him look less like an idiot. The hair won't be included, of course -- it's Zygote's Michael hair. I also want to develop more usable, non-hideous heads for him. Let me know what you think. Mike

Nice. Very good improvements. The image in the upper right looks kinda like Liam Neison.

I could use this guy..

Looks like Glen Close ;-)

Great work! Geez... now I Posette going to be getting upset because Vicki will be eyeing Poser Guy.

I applaud your work and wait in anticipation for his arrival! I agree with you, P4 Male is so neglected because he came with such a terrible looking head. Changing the focal point on the Face camera to 120 helps somewhat, but his default features are not what one would call pleasing. Nor does he have a large enough variety of clothing to work with. Great work! Liz Pope Dreamspinner Inc.

This For Sale P4 Male Morph has been up for many months and is really exceptional- Faces I've never seen anyone come up with on the P4 Male. I doubt most people have even seen or used these P4 morphs...

Oh my God -- he does look like Glenn Close! But then she is a handsome woman. Mike

The on problem I've having with him is keeping his eyes in place when I choose a different pose from my pose library. It's not that hard to put his eyes back in his head, but I'd appreciate any suggestions. Mike

How much did you do with morphs and how much was CR2 hacking?

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Wed, 21 February 2001 at 4:09 PM

Looks good ... And Fox-Mulder ... I never got the figure because much of it seems to be over exaggerated. But I am sure the dials could be tweaked a little less S

Fox-Mulder ( ) posted Wed, 21 February 2001 at 4:52 PM

I haven't gotten these morphs yet but I find it impressive that they have what looks like a very good Arnold Swarznegger, Mat Damon-Leonardo DiCaprio and other "look-a-likes" using just the P4 Male. I have not seen anyone else here come close to this so far... Also, their Vicky Morphs are pretty impressive too. It takes Vicky WAY BEYOND what most people have shown at Renderosity- (or perhaps they are, heh-heh, keeping quiet about it???)...

Looks like Glen Close ;-)<<< Now that you mention it, has anyone ever seen Glenn Close and Liam Neeson on screen together? In the same room together? Hmmm...

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Wed, 21 February 2001 at 5:44 PM

I think I also don't like the big old lips on a lot of them ... I am narrower mouth person myself. But they are pretty impressive.

JKeller ( ) posted Wed, 21 February 2001 at 5:56 PM

I think I saw both Liam and and Glen in the same shot together in the coverage for last year's Oscars. But it's possible they could have used some sort of split screen effect, or just had ILM composite in a 3D model of one of them.

egaeus ( ) posted Wed, 21 February 2001 at 6:00 PM

To create this figure, Duane, I filled P4 dork's head with morphs and started tweaking from scratch. Mike

JKeller ( ) posted Wed, 21 February 2001 at 6:45 PM

Sounds like at some point in your tweaking, the part in the cr2 where the eyes are told how to move in relationship to the head got messed up. Or the eyes are no-longer referenced as a "child" to the head in the cr2 anymore. The problem you described definately sounds cr2 related anyway.

The on problem I've having with him is keeping his eyes in place when I choose a different pose from my pose library.<<< I have had the same problem with a few characters that I have morphed the daylights out of. And it is especially apparent when I have the eyes partially closed. I think JKeller is right in where the problem is. However, everytime I go in to try and edit a cr2 I usually seem to create some new problem. My "dirty" solution has been to simply reposition the eyes by .001 on the z-plane. BTW, great work. I like him.
