Just to clarify a bit what wabe is talking about, procedural terrains shapes are primarily controlled by a function, so if you scale the terrain itself but not the function you'll just get a larger area of the same function controlled terrain, to adjust the size of the features you need to rescale the terrain and then scale up the function as well, Hope this helps!
