You won't be disappointed. I've regrettably retired Bryce from my daily use about a two years ago. It just hasn't kept up with 3d advancements. Carrara has reasonably mature landscape and plant generators - arguably on par with Bryce. Add a renderer that is easily 6 to 7 times faster plus global illumination, indirect lighting, "real" modeling tools and a host of inexpensive plug-ins that extend Carrara's capabilities even further and you've got a program you can be happy to work with.
