Knights Extraordinare for the Fantasy Armor (both RDNA) is wonderful for your knigths - highly detailed, renders beautifully. There are versions for Victoria 3, Michael 3 and the Freak. Too heavy on resourses, and too ornate for your run of the mill soldiers though. There's free armor for P5 Don by Valandar. Fits very good, just don't make Don more muscular than his default. It's rather plain as armor goes, no scrollwork, so it's good for the lower ranking soldiers. If you have Poser 5 (I'm not sure if it's included with Poser 6), the Dragonarmor addon for Don isn't bad. The chainmail that goes around the hip needs tweaks, and the metal hip plates are a nightmare (just go without the hip plates), I found that converting the chainmail to dynamic cloth (export as .OBJ in zero pose with vertices welded, reimport into Poser with vertices welded) works fine. If you want to have lightly armored female warriors, the Princess of the Elves armor by Baron Vlad Harkonnen (Marketplace here) is great value for money. Don't forget the weaponry! There are many good weapons, both in freestuff and for sale, but very, very few come with scabbards. Pick up Questor's swords from the DAZ freebie archives, maybe not as ornate as some other weapons, but they all come with scabbards. If you have to, you can build a spear from Poser primitives (a slender elongated cylinder for the shaft, two cones, flattened, for the point, export as .OBJ, reimport, and voila, a spear. Add an extra cone as a hand protector and you'll have a lance).
The pen is mightier than the sword. But if you literally want to have some impact, use a typewriter
