OK, not unusual, so I proceed, and the first thing im required to do is provide my full date of birth to even be allowed to the registration pages. That seems a bit invasive and I dont understand it, but I go ahead and go forward and the next step of the reg process is setting up my public profile. There is again an age section, saying "IF you provide your birthdate everyone will see it" and "year of birth is optional" so I blanked out those fields, and now it refuses to let me register unless I provide this personal information as publicly available. This is not comforting in this day and age of rampant identity theft. Whats with this site???
