The answer is the material zones allow you to "fake" clothing, just by changing the texture from skin to something else. (Here I put M3 in a leotard by applying a pink satin texture to his torso, arms, and legs.)
The free version of M3 includes spandex morphs - dials in the body that make it look like he's wearing spandex, rather than naked. That's how I got that edge at his wrists and ankles.
If you want to make something like a deep v-neck, you could paint it directly on an M3 texture. Make a copy of the body texture you plan to use, then paint clothing over it. So-called "second skin" clothing.
If you buy the bodysuit, it has even more material zones. You can make a lot of different clothing just by turning the material zones you don't want transparent.
