No, material zones are zones on a Poser item. If you've ever been in the material room, you'll have noticed that V3, M3, etc., have a lot of different material zones. Torso, arms, hands, feet, and more. Why is this? All the body material zones use the same texture, so why do have to apply it to every part? (MAT files do this automatically, but if you've ever done it by hand, you know what a pain it is.)

The answer is the material zones allow you to "fake" clothing, just by changing the texture from skin to something else. (Here I put M3 in a leotard by applying a pink satin texture to his torso, arms, and legs.)

The free version of M3 includes spandex morphs - dials in the body that make it look like he's wearing spandex, rather than naked. That's how I got that edge at his wrists and ankles.

If you want to make something like a deep v-neck, you could paint it directly on an M3 texture. Make a copy of the body texture you plan to use, then paint clothing over it. So-called "second skin" clothing.

If you buy the bodysuit, it has even more material zones. You can make a lot of different clothing just by turning the material zones you don't want transparent.
