To tell the truth, it's mostly a matter of play around with it until you understand it. Filters are problematic generally because although Vue is just about driven by filters, they're not very well explained. Start with a simple movement, say a level move straight ahead, then apply some filters to orientation & position timelines etc & see what happens. Even though there's hundreds of filters to choose from, you should really make your own if you want to get the movement you're looking for. This means starting with a simple linear filter and adding curve nodes and playing about with them.
