On my mac, the RAW images have no thumb, they have to be imported first. It is a good idea to set the in-camera option to save the RAW file with a JPEG so you know what is what before you open it. Like I said, work with your files in 16 bit for as long as possible before converting and then saving as a JPEG for the web. I find that if I reduce the size while it is still 16bit, the final JPEG quality is better. But it could just be me. :) I wouldn't worry much about the ICC profiles unless you get some weird colors in your images. Since RAW images are just that, you have to play around with them before they look right most of the time. Also I find saving as a Photoshop file makes a smaller file than TIFFs.
