Subject: Can't get Poser to Execute (Start)

I have tried everything I possibly can to get my Poser 5 to Start. I keep getting the POSER IS UNABLE TO START or something like that Error Message. I have been all over the Internet the past Month or so trying to find a reason why. I found one person that swears up and down that it has something to do with me Changing Internet Providers and one that insists that it has something to do with me getting a new Printer. I have tried UNinstalling and reinstalling 3 or 5 times now. and it's not just POSER 5. I thought If I download the POSER 6 demo that that would work but NOOOOO it comes up with the same **** message. So I tried my old version of POSER 4 and still the same **** irratting message comes up. IF anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I have no problem with editing my registry if someone could tell me what to do. I'm at my wits end Got's lots of Graphic ideas floating around in my head and no way to release them HELLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!! please
Don

If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 2, try turning off the Windows Firewall in your Control Panel. Make sure you are behind a router or that you have a different firewall installed first.... like Zone Alarm if you have to go with a free one. Windows Service Pack 2 has been instrumental in giving people grey hair through problems it causes in many graphic programs. Come back and let me know if it worked. That's the only solution I can think of.

I don't have Serviec Pack 2 and Windows Firewall is Turned off and I am behind a comcast router. I tried a REGSCRUB program that was supposed to fix my registry, whether it did or not I do not know it still hasn't fixed the POSER.EXE problem. I'm afrid I'm going to have to do a complete wipe and reinstall of Windows which is going to be a pain.
