The 1 series is clearly the best with regards to build, weatherproof body, dust seals etc. 1D MK2 +(n)version fastest performance on the market at present. 1Ds MK2 FF (Full Frame, 35mm film equivalent) sensor slower performance big price tag. Huge resolution 16. 7MP that will put out 50MB 8bit TIFF files For me the camera of choice would be the 5D, because I dont need extreme performance can live without the all weather body and it has a FF sensor. If you have any EFs lenses they wont fit any of the FF sensor cameras or the 10D (not sure about the 1D MK2) you will only get the 10D second hand, I have one it is a great camera and now a very good price, but the 20D is superior to it with regard to performance and low noise images at higher ISO's The 20D will take the EFs lenses
