It may be that the OBJ file was compressed - if you did anything with the grouping tool to cause Poser to save a new version, for example. In that case the find file dialogue won't display the file (it lists only .obj) but if you go to the right folder and type .obz after the name it should load (in my limited experience). If the reference is unchanged from the initial load then I'm not sure what is going on.
