In a word ... ABSOLUTELY !!! Hi vilian, Thank you for asking ... the answer is ... YES! As a matter of fact ... I'll do the rest of the tut using only Poser 4. You can use ... - Poser 4 - Poser ProPack - Poser Artist (same as Poser 4) - Poser 5 - Poser 6 - Poser 7 ... for this tutorial. ;=] cheers, dr geep ;=]

@ Diolma, Good point! Yes, you are absolutely correct that scrolling should not be necessary ... +++ unless +++ ... the DoggieBot folder is put in a sub-folder and there are enough sub-folders to make scrolling necessary. And, yes, you are, also, correct that NSG did that page. ;=] (Thanks for giving me a way "out" of that one.) cheers, dr geep ;=]

Hi Geep! You get a flat bottom to the foot here by pulling mesh, but my question is, can one flatten a curved mesh within poser? I have tried all sorts of graph setting to try to flatten the side of a ball prop and to try to get the look of a face or breasts pressed against a flat pane of glass. Nothing remotely like success... is this a posible feet ;)

Hi momo,

Yes, but it's tricky.

I got as far as adding the magnet, but I can't get the ball to change shape.

I'm using Poser 5

Hi Acadia,

Sorry you're having trouble.

Try this:

Place the "Zone" so that it only has the top half of the ball inside of it.

Now move the Magnet up and down - both above and below the ball.

Yes?

Thank you! That worked. I moved the Mag1 up as far as I could, which is a bit less than 1/2 the height of the ball, and now I can change shape using the Y Trans. runs off merrily to try the next page

I don't think this is working. :( As instructed above I moved the Mag1 up using the Y Trans dial. The number on the dial is something like .2 something. Once I moved the Mag1 up using the Y Trans dial, I was able to change the shape of the ball. However, now when I was working on Page 6 the ball's shape isn't being changed into the shapes shown in the tutorial's pictures. Here is my result after changing the X, Y, Z scale to 200%. How come I had to move my Mag1 up in order to get the ball to change shape? That step isn't listed in the Page 5 Tutorial. It seems the reason that my results are different is because I had to move the Mag1 Y Trans up.

geep ( ) posted Mon, 17 October 2005 at 7:08 PM

Ok ... Change the Mag's yScale back to 100%.

Now, move the "Zone" to the front (+zTran) just a little bit and watch the ball change shape.

BTW - Changing all 3 (x, y, and zScale) values is the same as changing the Scale parameter ... it just makes the object bigger but does not deform anything.

Make small changes and only change one thing at a time and I'll be back in about an hour.

I get the tutorial up to the point where I add the magnet. But after that, I'm totally lost. I went back to Page 5 and did it all again from square one. Again, the ball does not change shape based on the steps listed in that picture. If I move the Mag1 up on the Y Trans, the ball does change shape. But the shape isn't anything like what you have posted. If I just add the magnet and don't move the Mag1 up on the Y Trans, the ball doesn't change shape at all.
