I have a clone account, the one I use now!! I was recently attacked, the miscreant has not been apprehended and as I have a very rare surname, and the UK feels it's okay to sell my address and where abouts from the electoral roll to all and sundry I have had to purge my real identitiy from the net, and make a false persona. I don't use it to harrass people, gain votes, just to be, without my personal security becoming at risk. I suppose it depends on the circumstances really, my view is if someone is going to harrass you or stalk you then clone accounts are the least of your worries.
