I don't thinks it's a case of people not having looked at blender, it just doesn't suit everyone. To quote another forum, '3d apps are like underwear, most people try a few to see what they're comfortable with - not always what looks good!' Personally, I'm not keen on blender or wings, for a free package I use C4D CE. (Although I'm lucky enough to own full versions of Max and Maya all be it old ones - so most of my models are done in Max)
