In poser 4 you can delete the rsr file in the geometry folder.(Only these). Sometimes they get corrupted and cause the out of memory message. Also make sure you have the memory update for Poser4/Artist installed. As far as actually increasing the memory for Poser you can't. You can adjust your virtual memory though.
