Here's a thing...when I was supporting a bunch of users the first question I'd ask after a spillage was "do you take sugar?" That got some really weird looks...but coffee (or tea) with sugar in will wreck a keyboard whereas most often I was able to salvage the keyboard if there was no sugar involved.
