I have a Sony VCR that worked great for years after I bought it used so I thought they made great products. After going through a nightmare with a tapedrive I bought from them and the lack of support, plus other things I've read over the years, I long ago vowed to avoid anything with their brand on it. Since they went Hollywood and decided to become another mini nation-state corporate kleptocracy, they've lost the qualities that made them a great company. Unfortunately, the tradition of disembowelment for incompetence has been replaced by the American one of just give 'em a bigger salary.
