A batch of new free BVH files were just posted over at bvhfiles.com. Seems like the ones that were there for the longest time have been removed. If you missed them, don't fret too much, since most of them were raw motion capture data anyway and of limited usefulness. But this is the first time since I started visiting there I have seen stuff removed from the archive, so they may be doing this (taking down one set of files when they post the next one) in the future. I registered with them some time ago and I have gotten exactly one e-mail from them, so they are definitely not abusing the registrations. (And the picture in the e-mail of a cute model in a white leotard definitely made up for any inconvenience, especially since she was also wearing a freaky-looking motion capture rig.) Highly recommended!

Of course when you say BVH, my mind immediately thought of Baron Vlad Harkonnen. :

Not a bad price for that Gypsy Torso mocap rig, though still too expensive for my budget. Plus, I'd need to find a volunteer who could wear it.

I like these new mocaps. The ones I've tested so far actually start with the figure at the origin, and at ground-level.

Is it just me, or does SR2 seem to be handling keyframes a bit better? I retimed one of the motions (from 1050 frames to 525) for playback at 30fps, and P6 automatically removed the redundant frames from the end. I don't recall Poser doing that previously.

Wow, I imported a 6300-frame animation successfully. I 'd expected Poser to choke on it. Took a while to load, admittedly.

Take even longer to render I bet :/

Check the Gypsy site, Little Dragon. They also have a service where you can purchase time for one of their actors to produce mocap files for you. It ain't cheap, but with some careful planning, you could get some quality stock material.
