Sheila, I actually like the lighting in the 1st image! The crop is what bothers me, as my eyes WANT to see the whole glass! Also, it looks slightly tilted to the left (just enough to notice) I think a black background is the way to go too...white will blowout some of the glass details (IMO) My recent gallery image (at the link) shows a "blue" glass against a white background....just to give you an idea of that look!
