DAZ|Studio can't save to any Poser file formats, at least not yet. It has always been necessary to save to .ds/.dsb for presets and .daz for scenes. Not that a morph preset won't inject the morphs if you try to apply it to a character like Victoria 3 - in order to use it you need to have a version of V3 saved to a .daz scene with the morphs injected. Since D|S doesn't load the morphs until they are given a non-zero value you may as well inject all that you are likely to use and save the result, that way you don't need multiple versions of the figure saved.
