You asked why use a gorilla as Satan. IMHO I thought it was appropriate as one needn't be Satan to think that the Judeo-Xtian God as he is portrayed by most mainstream religions is much the way Pachino describe Him. I thought it was a clever use of an Ape giving the lowdown(whether you agree with it or not) on God given the Evolution/Intelligent Design nonsense going on today.
