Thanks for your help, I went to: View > Proof setup, and the only thing checked is "Working CMYK" I also posted this question in the photography forum, there is a long list of other suggestions that were tried, they suggested that I post a picture, so here is one for the string also. Yes, the problem definitely is not with the monitors, I can drag Photoshop and the original file back and forth from monitor to monitor, and the problem stays with Photoshop.
