I use a Matrox Parhelia card with 3 monitors (17" left, 19" middle and 17" right). The card is set to stretch my desktop across all 3 monitors. I run with Poser's main window, camera controls, light controls, editing tools, document display tools, dials palette, joint editor, and all the tools specific to the hair room, cloth room etc on my left 17". On the right monitor I have my library and the material nodes window. The only down side of this is I have to dock the library window when switching to the material room otherwise I can't see the material nodes window. The library docks back to the right-hand side of the main Poser window on the left monitor but goes back to the right monitor when I undock & maximise it again. I use the middle monitor for the scene itself, and I have set the window size and location the same for the pose, material, hair and cloth rooms. It took me a long time to set all this up the way that I wanted it. When switching between rooms the tool palettes are all in exactly the same position. I find this helps because I don't have to remember more than one layout when switching rooms. Once I had finished getting everything exactly as I wanted it I did an 'Edit/General Preferences/Set Preferred State', and then copied the file ..Poser 6RuntimeprefsPoser UI Prefs_3072x768.xml to my backup folder (3072x768 is my desktop stretched across 3 monitors at 1024x768 each). If I ever change something inadvertantly I just copy this file back to the Poser directory and my UI is back to what I set it up as. I have no problems with Poser not liking or changing my setup between uses. I don't stretch any of the Poser windows across more than one window though so that may be your problem. Check the tools that came with your video card driver. The Parhelia Desktop Manager has the option to 'Save window positions' and I had to switch this off because it caused all sorts of problems, not just with Poser. UA
