@barefootgen -- Far from disgusting, I would say that this is a case of life (or death) imitating art. I agree; very bizarre, yet beautiful in its own way. At first glance, I thought it was someone's ceramic sculpture, it almost has that glazed texture. An interesting subject (and story!) and a great addition to this Simon.
