While Poser doesn't take advantage of 64bit processors or dual core etc. The newer AMD processors do still seem to have an advantage over equivalent or faster Intel chips because of large on chip caches and integrated memory management circuitry. These tend to make them noticably faster in memory bound benchmarks (and a lot of 3D rendering involves loading and manipulating massive texture maps). But don't bother going for the top of the range CPU's. The small increase in computing power is not worth the considerable price hikes. Extra (fast) RAM and multiple fast hard discs will make more of an impact for Poser.
