Well, Mother Nature imagined it, I just stole it from her and stuck engines on the side. :)

Lol, I love it! You just know, somehow, that the race that uses this ship has an attitude that makes Klingons and Romulans seem sweet and docile in comparison. Very cool model and great lighting by the way. ;-)

Wow! That's ... somewhere between amazing and absolutely sinister!

This model bugs me for a small reason...guessing the legs are the landing gear wouldn't it more aerodinamic if they folded up or lay out along the body more...nit picking i know.. Other than that very nice use of something mother nature gave us.

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

Yeah, the whole firefly bit did pop up in my mind. But wanted to make a wasp ship, so couldn't really avoid that.

How about wings? Not for lift, since as pakled says, it's a vacume. More for show, or maybe solar power generation, or perhaps the warp field bubble needs the primary coils to be extended away from the main body of the ship, or some other techno babble star trek crap :)

Definitely a cool looking spaceship.

Or maybe the wings could be re-configured to act as rotors in the event of a landing....?

I reckon they should be massive slicers when the ship attacks the dreaded spacial bees! What ever you do with it, it will always be an awesome build. So much detail, thought and hard work can be seen in it. Well done. I can see it better without the space background ;)

Just for the record, the ship's name is "Serenity"; it's just a Firefly class freighter. This is why the movie is called "Serenity." Sorry: I'm a die hard fan of both the movie and the series. The ship looks great. Personally I like both the wings and the engines, so wouldn't it be even better with both? =)

drawbridgep ( ) posted Sat, 10 December 2005 at 7:51 AM

er.... yes, but we were referring to the class rather than an individual ship. To say it looks like one particular ship and not all the others in the class would be crazy talk. ;-)

Woops, that's right, the Serenity is the ship..;) I've caught some episodes..but for me the jury's still out..;)true, true..someone in one of the modeling galleries is working on a model of the Serenity, but they're doing every spot-weld and coolant pipe on the thing..;)

seen the gallery post for this, great work..
