That's more or less what DAZ did. They made a new version of the Victoria 2* (yep, Victoria 2) mesh and made Victoria 3. Then, they fannied around with it to make Michael 2. Then they made Stephanie Petite and David from the same mesh. The joints and mapping of each version are slightly different. David and Stephanie Petite seem to bend better. There are also The Freak, She-Freak and Aiko 3, which are all based on the same mesh. You can't use the morphs for one figure directly on another, with a few exceptions. V3 will happily take S3 morphs, by and large but S3 cries - and ends up with concave tits - when you apply V3 morphs. *Controversial and debatable. Some sources say V3 is a new mesh, others say it's largely derived from an optimised and subdivided Victoria 1/2 mesh. I tend to believe it's the latter.
