I'd also like to see some example images here. magnets that act in a smooth manner over a large surface area are easy enough, but operations that produce dimples, finger depressions or flat areas are more difficult. it reminds me of the article in this week's "economist" regarding 3d movie production - the conventional wisdom is that it's much easier, less expensive and far more realistic to do things like this with live humans than with 3d models.
