Well, that's what it looks like. It may be a miscommunication though, after all xStream is a standalone plugin, but acts differently if you have a full V5I license. Maybe another of those differences is the number of free nodes available. On the other hand, it may be in sympathy with the rendernode license details of the applications so far supported I.E. Maya and 3DS Max. As I only have Lightwave (which has an unlimited rendernode license agreement) I don't know.
