i've never tried morphing a posed character before so i'm not sure why it would give the error when its posed but not when its in the zeroed position... but i have run across that error before... usually with older models... like the p4horse and vicki1... when i brought it into Zbrush (or converted it to bring into Rhino when i still was using that program) it would give that error it gave you... the only solution i found (although i didn't spend THAT much time looking for solutions.. i just wanted the quickest fix i could find lol) was from Traveler's webpage... if you go under Tutor at the top... scroll down to the Rhino tutorials and click on Morphing in Rhino - The Basics, in there you'll find a download of a program called Compose... follow the instructions to run it through Compose and it shouuuuld be ok from then on.. no errors. i say should because as i said i've never exported out a posed model to morph in any program so i'm not 100% sure this will work for you.
