I'm not sure I understand your problem. Are the 4 layers set to Opacity=100%? If so, the background layer should not show through.

If you need a solid color layer under your 4 layers:

  1. Select the background layer.
  2. Create a new layer above it (Ctrl + N on a PC).
  3. Fill the new layer with whatever color you want.
