This is my favorite photograph from my trip to Scotland this past summer...What an amazing secluded place this was,and we,(my husband and I),were lucky enough to be there just as the cloudy,cold day began to yield to a beautiful,warm setting sun.It's from the clifftops of the wee isolated hamlet of Pennan,on the rocky Northeast coastline.For the record,Pennan is famous in Scotland as the setting for the 70's film,'Local Hero',which incidentally,featured Burt Lancaster.

There is something powerfully romantic about this shot to me,...it seems to have this tragic sense of lonliness and longing in it... which is why I paired it with the lyrics to my all-time favorite song,'The Water is Wide'...Sigh...(lol),I can't help myself.I guess I'm just a hopeless romantic... :^)
