Perhaps if you made the deck of the truck as a double deck car transporter with the two cars on the top deck it would no longer appear that they were floating above the road. Size of all the cars should be roughly similar and the truck about twice the size of the cars. Some bow wave and wake on a larger ship would add some movement to the scene. just my 2 cents worth.
