Subject: Reducing text on a path

Cryptojoe, rasterizing just combines the text elements into a transformable 'whole'. Transforming the text at this point distorts it from the original path. Tantarus, I understand what you are saying regarding the advantages of vector over raster, but unless I am missing something in Illustrator I still have the same problem as mentioned above regarding the distortion from the original path. The example picture shows what I want to do. In the example the font point starts at 90 and reduces to 10 over the length of the sentence. Each letter was edited separatley to assign point size. A time consuming way of doing things. Could this be done with an action, or would the action be confined to working on a string of text that contained the same number of letters in it each time?
