I downloaded Poser 6 during that upgrade special offer, and I wouldn't have dared attempt it with a dial-up. I only have 512k ADSL, and it was a long download on that, but no problems. Content Paradise is a reliable, well-run, site. The one time I had a problem, I contacted them and it was quickly sorted out. Obviously, you should check the reliability at your end. If I were doing a lot of big downloads I would certainly invest in a UPS, but that would only protect against brief power outages. You'll know if any particular weather conditions are a higher risk in your locality. Otherwise, just set things running overnight. (And hope your father doesn't want to boil an egg in the early hours -- long story, but now I keep a flashlight in reach of my bed).
