It's ridiculous. I called Microsoft today, and got the sp 2 uninstalled (there were missing files, so I couldn't follow the "knowledge base" instructions. Still buggy and now other apps don't work. Think I'll just make sure I have everything I want properly backed up and re-install xp from scratch. Thanks for your help everybody.
