Hey these are really good - some very nice shots Andreas.
So your problem is with consistency not getting a great shot.
I have never tried to do it by lighting the whole scene and shooting I have always used flash. Thats what all the electronics was about - and I'll help you with that if you want to do it that way. So my camera shutter was open for 2 or 3 seconds which gave me time to aim and do the drop, the flash fired for the splash so that was all that was exposed.
You could try using your cameras built in flash, I have in the past used that and it work out quite well, but is still trial and error so you will get rejects.
When I used built in flash I set the camera on manual 1/60th, F8, ISO50, Flash -fire always, timer to 2 secs, focus manual to just in front of where the drop will fall. The room has to be dimly lit !
I then set off the camera with it's 2 sec delay which gave me just enough time listening to the bleeps to get ready to do the drop so it would splash for when they finished.
Good luck with it - these shots are superb Andreas just need that consistency [or a lot of patience].

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.
