There's no direct way to do it, but there are some indirect tricks. Maybe the easiest trick: Let's say you want several people to handle a book, giving it to each other at various times. You'd bring in a copy of the book for each person, adjust it to fit in the hand, and parent it to the hand. Then you use visibility to make the transfers. Hide all the books except the one you want to see; at the frame when Joe hands the book to Mary, hide Joe's book and make Mary's book visible.
